For this painting I started with a coat of  brown acrylic, after which I used a thin coat of lemon yellow oil paint to sketch my subject.  I mixed my paints and their values. I took my time and studied each stroke before placing them on the canvas trying to paint looser and keep the vibrant colors.  Hope you have had a sunflower day!!  Until tomorrow!

The 30 in 30 challenge is going along pretty good.  I'm enjoying using different techniques along the way.  I am really being challenged now because I'm running out of canvas (going to the city for more on Thursday)! For this painting I started really early this morning with a thin acrylic coat of Naples yellow.  I then sketched using  thin oils of the main colors for the painting. I  mixed my colors (not enough for sure had to redo severl times)  then painted mainly with a pallete knife, which is new for me.  It was an experience, for sure!   I had lots of paint all over me and everything else. It certainly takes more paints with a pallete knife than it does with a brush. Enjoy today by feeding your creativity!!  See you tomorrow!!
